Athlete Program

 FLTC Training Programs

FLTC Athlete program provides athletes 14 to 34 years old with the technical support they need to attain their training objectives, either an elite performance level in specific track and field events, or simply to improve their fitness and skills for other sports. The training and competitive aspects of the program follow the Long Term Athlete Development developed by Athletics Canada and vary with the age of the athlete. The coaching staff provides each athlete in this program with a unique, detailed seasonal and annual training plan. All physical aspects of performance are trained. Athletes are also given coached in event-specific technical skills, mental preparation and nutrition. Competitive athletes in this program usually focus on a few events and compete regularly in competitions at the provincial, regional and national level.

Athletes in this program have the opportunity to train up to three times each week with the club. They may also do further training under the guidance of club coaches. The program is available during the indoor and outdoor seasons. FLTC membership includes registration to Athletics NB, access to training facilities, coaching fees, and may include some support to attend competitions. Athletes are supervised by coaches that are NCCP trained and have filed a police security check.
